Breezy all at Sea

Emotional eating and shopping is real my friends. And I know because I do it. Today has been a trying day. I spent most of it (and Monday for that matter) looking for jobs. It just is getting old. I’ve been doing this now for almost 1.5 years and I’m tired. I don’t get anywhere and I just feel like crap doing it. Like I’m expending all of this energy and it’s useless. So when my aunt (who is in town) suggested that I meet her for a quick shopping expedition, I jumped. I bought a cute dress for less than $20 (marked down) and it felt great as I handed over my Mastercard to pay for it. Then, it was dinner time. I had a half of a delicious burrito followed by a cookie. Not the best meal perhaps, but healthier than In-n-Out Burger for sure. And even though I’m full, I still am tempted to peek into my cabinet and see if anything entices me. But I won’t. Because I worked out today and got my ass kicked by the personal trainer, and it’s almost 10pm. Not the best time to snack.

And the worst part of my day? Deciding that going to a baseball game tomorrow with P warranted the purchase of a shirt with the logo of my hometown baseball team. So I drove half way across town to look at the only store that had one only to find that it was too small. Luckily my friend J, who is used to my craziness, suggested I just buy a shirt in the color of the team (navy blue or teal). Which proved to be a task in and of itself. But I finally located one for the measly price of $5 at the mecca to fashion conscious but poor folk such as myself, Forever 21. Yes, it will wear out within a few washes, but it will look cute on me tomorrow as I sit through 9 innings of what will either be the most awkward game ever, or the flirtiest, most fun game ever.  Wish me luck!

As I write this, my fridge is making the most annoying ticking noise. Argh!
