When do I get my turn?

I can’t take this much more. I need a job. Yesterday, tomorrow, today. Whenever. The job I was working for didn’t take out taxes from my first two paychecks but on this last one, they took them out to make up for that. So I got screwed out of almost $800. Which I really, really, really needed. So now I’m broke. Again. Because of their stupidity. I’m just so tired of waiting for my turn. For a job. For my life to get better. I know I mope a lot on here, but I need to vent somewhere. I’m so tired of all my friends and family who just keep saying, you’ll get a job, things will get better, blah, blah, blah. Enough. No one knows that. I don’t know anymore. I’m really tired of this life. Where can I trade it in for a new one?

  1. If I can be dull and boring, are you getting interviews? If not then you might want to start looking at your CV and tweaking it. Even when I wasn’t looking for jobs seriously I was attending 1 interview a week on average after applying for 8+ positions that week (in a fairly crappy market). If you can’t get the foot in the door then you can’t impress them. If you are getting the interviews but aren’t getting the jobs then perhaps look at your interview technique. Ask for feedback from people who have turned you down. I almost exclusively go through agencies so they can go through the pain of submitting my CV, sorting out the interview dates and getting the feedback, I just pitch up to the interviews :D Not sure if you have things like that in the states. It’s pretty soul destroying looking for a job (I was sick to death of tech tests by the end if it :) ). If you like you can chuck your CV this way and I can take a look. I know it’s a different industry but I used to look at a lot of CVs so I know what makes things bin worthy :)
