Nine and twenty

So my birthday is over. Feel free to resume your normally scheduled lives.
It was a good day overall. Saturday night I went out with my friend T and we hit the town. Had a nice dinner of crab cakes and vodka. Proceeded to drink more vodka and hunt for cute boys to flirt with. Unfortunately, Seattle was not brimming to the tee with cute boys (shocking, I know) that night but we managed to accost a couple of boys who looked like they still have math sixth period with Mr. Brown. I demanded to see IDs and pronounced them real but I still had my reservations that they weren’t $50 purchases from some dude named Skeeter. Oh well. We also ended up at this once very posh lounge that has now turned into something that resembles Compton. Strange how people inhabit areas of the Seattle that used to be so…definitive by geographic location.
After I got home yesterday, my mom and I braved the mall (thank you valet parking) and proceeded to my mecca, aka Nordstrom. I got some new undergarments and tried on other clothes. I couldn’t really be bothered to venture into other stores as the mall was brimming with people, including the mothers and their strollers who think they own the mall. Just because you have a stroller doesn’t mean you own the mall people. I couldn’t really think of anything else to do yesterday as all my friends (excluding T of course) were out of town. Being a cold albeit sunny Sunday in December in Seattle doesn’t leave much for anyone to do outside of indoor activities.
I enjoyed numerous phone calls, texts, emails and FB posts, thank you very much. However, one of my best friends, M, never called. I’m really pissed. She has been MIA lately and I am quite tired of it. She gets really pissy if I don’t answer my ph0ne when she calls, usually at 7am my time (she lives in Chicago), but never answers my calls and doesn’t listen to voicemail period. But to have forgotten my birthday is really inexcusable. I’m really upset. I know there could have been something that happened, but since she hasn’t bothered to call me back since last Tuesday, I doubt it. I think she’s just caught up with her boyfriend.
Anyways, back to the festivities. We met everyone for a wonderful dinner that consisted of steak, french fries, veggies, bread, yummy wine courtsey of those Down Under, and to top it off, a massive brownie sundae. I barely managed to roll out of the restaurant. Got home and had more phone calls to make and receive. My aunt and I share the same birthday, so we always make a point of calling each other and discussing our days.
Overall, it was nice day. A bit anti-climatic, but I guess that’s to be expected at my age and me being a spinster and all.
