Breezy all at Sea

So this week flew by. I can’t believe I’ve been here for 3 weeks. Crazy. It feels like 3 months sometimes and 3 days at other times.

Looking back, my week was pretty full. I saw the Dark Knight, experienced an earthquake and spent time at the ocean. I went to the most beautiful beach on Wednesday. Some of you will know it as the name of a very popular show a couple of years ago on MTV that lead to a spin off series… It is amazing there. I saw a couple of other beaches and they were nice, but this one took the cake. One lesson I learned is don’t mess with the ocean. It was very calm about 99% of the time, but as I was walking back to my car and walking in the surf, one wave hit hard and soaked my clothes, as well as knocking a little kid under. He was ok though, my skirt was not. Totally drenched. I was meeting my friend so I ended up having to buy a dress to wear (darn) and it’s super cute.

I met up with my friend D from college. I hadn’t seen him in 8 years so it was fun hanging out. He’s done a lot with his life–the Peace Corps, traveling the world and living in Africa.  And I forgot how tall he is–6′5! Towered over me. We had French food and then committed a sin if Perpetual and Dom have anything to say about it…drank Stella. It was refreshing, that’s my excuse.

Yesterday I had an interview at a firm that is super close to a beach and the airport, but it a strict litigation firm. It’s just not what I want to do. Feels me with dread thinking of being in court and arguing day in, day out. Good firm though, and they seemed really friendly. So we’ll see. I have another Monday and I’m hoping that one will work out. It’s an immigration firm, so not as courtroom based work.  After my interview I hung out with my cousins, who are getting cuter by the day. Then I went out.

I went out with the girl, J,  who was supposed to be my roommate,. She is really cool. We really clicked and had a good time. We met up with her roommate and friends and went to this party at a bar that J’s friend had rented out. It was a very exclusive crowd. Her friends were nice and friendly, but I was preoccupied because P was there…

I had texted my friend S to see if he wanted to meet up but he didn’t, so I asked for P’s number to invite him. He was a little hesitant to come out, but after I said I’d pick him up, he consented to come out for a drink. He is cute. Even J and her friends thought so.  He was really nice and friendly and we had fun. The only downside to the guy? He talks a lot. A lot, a lot, a lot. I’m not sure if it’s a character trait, or if he was just nervous. He did ask questions about me and was attentive for sure, but I did a lot of listening. He was concerned that he was monopolizing my time and suggested that he should leave so I could mingle with J and her friends. But I vetoed that idea. J and I talked at length and her roommate C also talked to me. So I didn’t feel bad. I felt like J and I have been friends for years. It’s strange how you can just meet someone and it clicks like that. I digress… around 1, I was ready to leave, so P and I headed out. I drove him home and he gave me a hug when he got out of the car. The thing that sucks is that he’s leaving for the weekend and then for about a week and a half to venture north to get his car. And when he gets back, he’ll have his brother with him. He did say that when he gets back we should hang out, go hiking, do Karaoke (over my dead body), etc. So it’s hard to tell. J swore he was interested. I don’t know. He definitely didn’t look at other girls or make comments about them (unlike Jenner) and he was a bit flirty. Hence, the title of this post. I’m not really sure what to think…
